The Town of Drakes Branch has received an all-clear from State Health officials for the Town’s drinking water. Samples were taken July 8 and July 9, and all have tested negative of bacteria. According to town officials, there is no longer a need to boil water before drinking or cooking, and the issue has been corrected.

On July 3 those on the town’s water supply were advised to boil their drinking water after bacteriological tests collected June 25 and July 1 indicated the presence of coliform bacteria and or E. coli.
