Sherman Roosevelt Pennix Sr. age 90 of Brookneal, died on June 19, 2019 in Lynchburg. He was the son of the late David and Lynda Pennix.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elna “MaMa” Pennix of Brookneal; eleven children, Patricia Lovelace (Dave) of Red House, Alice Scott (Charlie), Gaynelle Pennix (Maurice Megginson), Linda Scott (David), all of Lynchburg,
Sherman Pennix (Dale) of Madison Heights, Margaret Walker (David), William “Boy” Pennix (Angie), Diane Pannell (Glenn), Debbie Hamlett (James), and Pamela Joseph (Osric), all of Brookneal and Emma Younger (Sam) of Naruna; thirty grandchildren; fifty-three great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many, many friends.

Funeral services were held on June 30, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House with interment in the church cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com.
