Nancy Lee Childress, 69, died peacefully in her home May 14, 2019. She was born March 6, 1950 in Victoria, VA, the daughter of Herman Percy Atkins and Lillian Brown Smith Atkins.
Nancy lived a simple life and could be found either reading a book or working a puzzle. Watching her children and grandchildren grow was her pride and joy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Douglas Atkins, her sister, Nellie Earlene Fix, and her brother, Herman Donald Atkins.
She is survived by the love of her life, Raymond Setzer; daughters, Sharon Philbeck Ashely and her husband, Charles of Saxe, Stacy Renee Johnson and her husband, Michael of Charlotte Court House; six grandchildren, Johnathan Woods, Kelly Eades, Jeremy Ashley, Amanda Ashley, Ainsley Johnson and Aven Johnson; and three great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 1, 2019, at the Philbeck Music Hall in Keysville, VA. A time will be announced later. Those who wish to remember Nancy in a special way, please donate a book in her memory to the local library.
