The Heart of Virginia has been placed on a tornado watch and flash flood watch between Friday, 1 p.m. to Saturday, 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Thunderstorms and high winds remain on the forecast for Friday and Saturday.

Charlotte County is under a tornado watch from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

Charlotte County Public Schools announced that schools will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. for impending inclement weather. There will be no after-school care Friday.
