R-H Athletic Hall of Fame 2019 class set

Seven individuals will be part of the 2019 induction class for the Randolph-Henry High School Athletic Hall
of Fame, and the induction festivities have been set.

The individuals include five athletes, a coach and a contributor.

Among the athletes is Amanda Carter, a softball and basketball player who is part of the Class of 2003.

Next is Willie J. “Chip” Childress, a baseball and football player who was part of the Class of 1978.

Football, baseball and basketball standout Edward Harding, a member of the Class of 1964, was selected.

Class of 1996 athlete Rhonda Jenkins was tabbed; she played basketball and softball.

Representing the Class
of 1981, Robert Pugh distinguished himself as a football, baseball and basketball player.

The coach being inducted is Billy Catron, a highly successful Randolph-Henry baseball coach who is now serving as an assistant
coach for the Hampden-Sydney College baseball team.

The contributor selected for induction is Gary Walker,
longtime Dixie Youth Baseball coach who has given many young players a strong foundation in the sport that has put them in a position to succeed at a particularly high level by the time they reach the varsity high school ranks of Randolph-Henry.

Hall of Fame induction festivities have been set for Sept. 13 and 14. A social
time and recognition will occur Sept. 13 followed by the induction at Central Middle School the next day.

Tickets are required to attend and are on sale now through Sept. 6 at the Randolph-Henry Main Office.
