Watson sentenced for possession

A Meherrin resident was recently sentenced for a year and a half for charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Eluding Law Enforcement.
Torreace “Boochie” Watson, 34, was found guilty of two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Eluding Law Enforcement, according to information from the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
The charges resulted from a traffic stop where Watson fled from Tri-County Drug and Gang Task Force officers on foot. Watson was apprehended by task force officers after a brief pursuit, according to police.
The Tri-County Drug and Gang Task Force is comprised of Narcotics Investigators and Special Agents of the Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office, Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police Division III Bureau of Criminal Investigation Appomattox Field Office.
