Sherwood Boyd Johnson Sr.

Sherwood Boyd Johnson Sr., 67, of Keysville, VA entered eternal slumber on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at his residence.
Mr. Johnson was born in Reading, PA to the late Edward McKinley Thompson and Martina Edwina Johnson. He was a United States Army veteran, and his most treasured appointments were when he was stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany (Bavaria) and Fort Indian Town Gap Military Reservation in Annville, PA. He retired in the mid 90’s from Armstrong World Industries of Marietta, PA, and later decided to fulfill a life-long dream, and became a long distance truck driver until his second retirement in February 2016.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his sister, Nellie Virginia.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 48 years, Susie Ellen Johnson; three sons, Sherwood B. Johnson, Jr., Stanley Johnson (Brooke) and Stanford Brandon Johnson (Tiffany); two daughters, Sabrina Belinda Johnson and Serena Johnson Wilson (SFC Eric Thomas); ten grandchildren: TJ, Alexis, Keyla, Zaiire, Zavian, Treyvone, Nyeoni, Mikel, Khamari and Karson; one sister, Laura Johnson; one brother, Julius David Johnson, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, VA. Burial with military honors followed in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia Court House, VA.
