Wilhelmina VanDyke, age 88 of Randolph, died on February 18, 2019 in South Boston. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Virgil Coles and Mrs. Mattie Lee McClendon Coles.
Wilhelmina was preceded in death by her first husband, John Fitzgerald, and her second husband, Joseph Vandyke. She also had five children who preceded her in death, Linda, Robert, Edward, Michael, and Bernita. She had seven siblings who preceded her in death, Rosa, Robert, Herbert, Ethel, Virgil Jr., Benny, and Phillip and two grandchildren, Charles and Ricky.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one granddaughter that she reared as her daughter, Linda; thirty-three grandchildren, David (Kasia), Nicole, Shawntel, Kia (Earl), Robert, Monyette, Magain (Lance), Arbre (Anthony), Justin, Teneka, Teneasha, Devin, Devonna, Ena (Joe), Sean, Allen, Jermain, Jonathan, Wendy, Katrina (Darrell), Traci, Sereda, Janisa, Marquetta, Vonetta ( Dedrick), Timica, Miriam, Thomas Jr. Darryl, Derrick, Dana, Tradawn, Tradonna; seventy-three great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great grandchildren; two sons- in-law, Howard and Joseph; five daughters-in-law, Evelyn, Deborah, Donna, Mary, and Annie; one step son, Thomas; three sisters, Gloria, Nellie, and Paulette; one brother-in-law, Fred; one sister-in-law, Dorean; and a host of nieces, and nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 2, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House with interment in the church cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com. Arrangements were by Jeffress Funeral Home of Charlotte Court House.
