Break-ins reported at churches

One attempted break-in, and two break-ins that resulted in stolen items, were reported at vehicles located at three churches in the county Sunday.

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office reported that officers received a call from Lebanon United Methodist Church in Drakes Branch about an attempted break-in of a car. The report cites that nothing was taken.
Officers received a call from a second church, Shiloh Baptist Church in Drakes Branch, about a breaking and entering of another car.

Officers reported that some personal papers were stolen from the vehicle.
Officers then received a call from a third church, Salem Church in Red Oak, about a vehicle breaking and entering.

“A wallet, bank cards, and a handgun were stolen from this car,” the report cited.
