SSWCD poster contest winners announced

Southside Soil and Water Conservation District (SSWCD) recently announced the district level winners of
the (National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) and Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (VASWCD) poster contest. The NACD poster contest is open to kindergarten through grade 12 students.
Artwork is judged locally by SSWCD and first place winning posters are sent to be judged by the VASWCD on the state level. The winning posters reflect the annual stewardship theme. Poster entries are judged based on conservation message, visual effectiveness, originality and universal appeal. The district level winners are pictured receiving a check from SSWCD. First place winners received $25, second place $20, third place $15 and fourth place $10.
