During library time with librarian Allyson Watkins at Phenix Elementary School, the prekindergarten students talked about winter weather. In anticipation of upcoming snow, Watkins told them they were going to make snowflakes.
She asked how they might do that in the library. Some responses included making them out of paper, rope or glue. Watkins then showed them what they would be using. The items included flour, a rolling pin and sprinkles.
The four-year-olds guessed they would be making sugar cookies. Each child got to cut out a snowflake from the dough and decorate it. After they were baked, the students got to enjoy eating them. What delicious snowflakes!
