Winter storm watch in effect Saturday

A winter storm watch was announced for the region beginning during the day Saturday, according to reports from the National Weather Service (NWS) location in Blacksburg.
The Charlotte County winter storm watch begins Saturday at 1 p.m. and ends Sunday at 7 p.m.
Regionally, snowfall is expected to measure between 2-6 inches, though probabilistic readings in Charlotte read up to 5 inches as of Friday morning.
“A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel,” a report from the NWS cited. “Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.”
