Weather update: 8-16 inches possible for region

The winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Blacksburg remains in effect for Charlotte County until 11 a.m. Monday.
Total snow accumulations are now ranging from 8-16 inches in the region, which also includes Appomattox, Bedford and Campbell counties, with some areas having the potential to see higher snowfall levels.
A 100 percent chance of snow that could be heavy at times is forecast during the day Sunday.
“Total daytime snow accumulation of 9 to 13 inches possible,” the forecast cited.
Coming into tonight, snow is possibly mixed with sleet before 3 a.m., then a slight chance of sleet. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible, according to the NWS.
