According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, a slight chance of rain and snow showers is expected before 1 p.m., then a slight chance of rain showers between 1-2 p.m. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

According to a weather service statement from the National Weather Service, the snow showers may produce a fine coating of snow on mainly elevated surface such as bridges and overpasses.

The National Weather Service in Wakefield cautioned motorists in the event that elevated surfaces such as overpasses may become a little slippery. “As such, use caution if driving this morning,” the National Weather Service statement cited.
