Library club creates Blackout Poetry

The Randolph-Henry Library Club used old newspapers and copies of excerpts from their favorite books to create “Blackout Poetry” at their November meeting. This creative concept allows students to craft a brand-new story from an existing text by blacking out or coloring over all except a few select words and phrases. Some students were able to add artwork to the poems as well. The club plans to use submissions for a culminating literary arts magazine in the second semester.
