Election results are in for all of Charlotte County’s eight precincts, according to unofficial results from the Charlotte County Voter Registrar’s office and the Virginia Department of Elections:
Corey A. Stewart secured the Charlotte County vote for senator at 2,792 votes, whereas Tim Kaine received 1,870 votes. Matt Waters received
52 votes. There were 5 write-in candidates.
Denver Riggleman took the lead for the 5th Congressional District Seat, receiving 2,888 votes. Leslie Cockburn received 1,819 votes. There were seven write-in votes.
For proposed constitutional amendment question 1:
Should a county, city, or town be authorized to provide a partial tax exemption for real property that is subject to recurrent flooding, if flooding resiliency improvements have been made on the property?
3,178 voted yes and 1,342 voted no.
For proposed Constitutional Amendment question 2:
Shall the real property tax exemption for a primary residence that is currently provided to the surviving spouses of veterans who had a one hundred percent service-connected, permanent, and total disability be amended to allow the surviving spouse to move to a different primary residence and still claim the exemption?
3,582 voted yes and 948 voted no.
 
Charlotte Court House Mayor David C. Watkins Jr. received 168 votes, or 95.45 percent of the votes. There were eight write-in votes.
 
Charlotte Court House council members Brenda D. Haskins received 133 votes, or 25.05 percent. Julia B. Kurdt received 101 votes, or 19.02 percent. Terrill W. Ramsey received 100 votes, or 18.83 percent. Debra P. Andrews received 132, or 24.86 percent. There were 65 write-in votes, making up 12.24 percent.
Drakes Branch Mayor Denise Pridgen received 165 votes, or 95.38 percent. There were eight write-in votes.
Drakes Branch council members James K. Gregory received 123 votes, or 18.69 percent. Peery A. Wells received 114 votes, or 17.33 percent. There were 106 write-in votes, or 16.11 percent. Deborah Tucker Kennedy
received 97 votes, or 14.74 percent. Phillip D. “Phil” Jackson received 83 votes, or 12.61 percent. Clarence A. Hamlett received 82 votes, or 12.46 percent. Terry M. Tharpe received 53 votes, or 8.05 percent.
Keysville mayor Steven L. Morris received 156 votes, or 78.39 percent. There were 43 write-in votes, or 21.61 percent.
Keysville council members Sarah Critzer recieved 145 votes, or 18.26 percent. Audrey H. Payne received 141 votes, or 17.76 percent. Rhonda Locke Benn received 127 votes, or 15.99 percent. Scotty Ray Jackson

received 122 votes, or 15.37 percent. Emily R. Jackson received 119 votes, or 14.99 percent. George Thomas Sandridge received 116 votes, or 14.61 percent. There were 24 write-in votes.
