Randolph-Henry High School’s (R-H) varsity football team completed the part of its schedule rearranged due to fallout from Tropical Storm Michael, but the Statesmen are still searching for their first win of the year. On Monday, they finished their Sept. 28 game against visiting Amelia County High School that was originally delayed due to malfunctioning lights, and the Raiders won 52-14. On Thursday, R-H fell 35-6 to host Buckingham County High School. The Statesmen played that game without senior halfback Treymon Roberts, who was suffering minor effects from a car accident that morning, and senior linebacker Layton Payne, who was on a school trip. Sophomore halfback Tyshaundre Walton, pictured with the ball above, did well filling in for Roberts, logging 28 carries for 89 yards and a touchdown. R-H (0-9) closes its 2018 season Friday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Cumberland County High School (0-9).
