Statesmen football game postponed due to Michael

Randolph-Henry High School’s (R-H) varsity football team will be adding another Monday night game to its schedule, this time due to inclement weather that came about as a result of Tropical Storm Michael.
The Statesmen (0-5) had been set to visit Nottoway High School (3-3) on Friday, but that game has now been rescheduled for Monday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m.
However, the weather is not expected to change the scheduling of Randolph-Henry’s Monday night game set for this coming week. The Statesmen will host Amelia County High School (6-0) at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 15 to conclude the game they started together Friday, Sept. 28, but were not able to conclude due to lack of functioning lights. The game will pick up where it left off — at the beginning of the second quarter. The Raiders lead the game 22-0.
“We will hold the ceremony to recognize the Homecoming Court and crown the king and queen at halftime,” Randolph-Henry Principal Shep Critzer said. “Since many fans had already paid for (the Sept. 28) game and could not be refunded, admission to this game will be free.”
