A widespread power outage in the county Tuesday afternoon has prompted a response from county offices and Charlotte County Public Schools.

According to an outage map from Dominion Energy, 274 customers are reported without electricity in Charlotte Court House. The cause of the outage, according to Dominion, is a tree on a power line.

The estimated time of power restoration is between 6-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Central Middle School and Randolph-Henry High School have reported losing power Tuesday. In a social media post by the school division, the division reported that some office phones are not working at the schools.
