BIBLE STUDY CLASS, 7-8 p.m. at Drakes Branch Baptist Church. The class is free and open to middle school students in grades 6-8 each Wednesday. The curriculum used will be AWANA material. For more information, call (434) 208-8496.

SEPTEMBER 29

MEN’S DAY, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak. Various games will be played and the guest speaker will be Minister Michael Haskins of Organ Hill Baptist Church.

SEPTEMBER 30

MEN’S DAY, 11 a.m. at Salem Baptist Church. The Rev. Glen Faulkner of White Pak Fork Baptist Church in Virgilina will be the guest speaker along with a guest male chorus.

SMOKEY WILSON CONCERT, 7 p.m. at Rough Creek Presbyterian Church. There will be light refreshments following the concert and all are welcome to attend. The church is located 3 miles north of Phenix on highway 727.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY, 3 p.m. at Aspen Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Tucker, Jr. will officiate along with this choir from Sunflower Baptist Church. Light refreshments will be served following the service.

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Phenix United Methodist Church. Special music will be provided by Shelia Schaefer. Preacher Mike Teixeira will deliver the message. A covered dish luncheon will follow the service. All are welcome.

KIDS CLUB, 4-5:30 p.m. at Drakes Branch Baptist Church. The program is free and will be held each Monday after school. Activities will include, homework help by certified teachers, Bible study, games and crafts. Snacks will be served. Parents need to register children for the program. BEEKEEPERS MEETING, 7 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office in Farmville. The program will be an annual honey tasting. The competition is open to all who have extracted honey from their own bees this current season. Bring your honey in an unmarked squeeze bottle if possible. OPPORTUNITY FUND SKEET AND TRAP CLASSIC, 8 a.m. registration at Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center in Appomattox. Participants will shoot one round each of skeet and trap, have breakfast and lunch, win prizes and take home awards for their shooting skills. All proceeds go to the nonprofit Southside Opportunity Fund’s scholarships for graduating high school seniors in Southside Electric Cooperative’s (SEC) service area. THE ROYALLIGHTS GOSPEL SINGERS ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Wylliesburg. The group will celebrated their 62nd anniversary. Various groups will render the music on the program. All are welcome.

MISSIONARY ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at Galilee Baptist Church. Wear white. Men wear white ties. The Rev. Sandra Jones will bring the word. A gift will be provided for the most in attendance.
