The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Baseball Camp was held Aug. 25 at the Keysville Dixie Youth Baseball Field. The event was organized by Randolph-Henry High School Varsity Baseball Head Coach Josh Barmoy, and it featured area coaches and student-athletes from the school’s junior varsity and varsity teams instructing campers from grades 1-8 in baseball fundamentals. Reflecting on the camp, Barmoy said, “As athletes and coaches we have a huge platform, and what we do with that platform shows what truly matters. Through FCA we want others to know Christ and how a personal relationship with Christ can impact the sport of baseball. I was just happy to give back to the community. I was extremely proud of the returning baseball players who volunteered their time on a Saturday to spend with the campers. Our coaching staff did a great job with instruction. They delivered some fun and exciting drills with a mix of competition that made the environment fun. We look forward in preparing a new camp next year that will be a father-son baseball camp. We hope to get more kids out next year.” Those involved in the camp this year gathered for a photo to commemorate the event.
