Daryl Wayne Bennett

Daryl Wayne Bennett, 58, of Randolph, a wonderful, caring, friend and a giving person passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He was dedicated in his faith and ready to go home and be with the Lord. He was the loving husband of Tamara Holt Bennett.

Daryl was born in South Boston, February 6, 1960 a son of the late Reuben Colbert Bennett and Nadine Harvey Bennett. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, where he served on the Mission Committee, a member of the Truckers Parade Against Cancer Team, a tobacco farmer, an employee of West Point Stevens Mill and a carpenter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by, a brother, David M. Bennett (Joyce) of Randolph; a sister, Tammy B. Hall (Garnett) of Halifax; nieces and nephews; a mother-in-law, Shirley C. Holt of Phenix; two brothers-in-law, Daryl Holt (Beth), and Randall Holt (Robin) all of Forest; an uncle, Garnett Harvey (Rosalee) of Topeka, Kan.; two aunts, Lois Hux of Littleton, N.C. and Christine Elder of Phenix. He was preceded in death by his faithful companion, Blacky.

The family would like to thank Dr. William Grosh and Dr. John Angel for their professionalism and wonderful care of Daryl during his long illness.

A funeral service was conducted August 27, at New Hope United Methodist Church by the Rev. Mike Teixeira with internment in the church cemetery.
