Tryouts for the Randolph-Henry High School varsity golf team Monday drew 13 student-athletes, which met expectations according to Assistant Coach Eddie Pyle.

The group is expected to constitute the final roster for the Statesmen entering the 2018 season.

“We aren’t making cuts this year,” Pyle said.

The Statesmen will be looking to put together a strong follow-up to their 2017 season in which they went 26-1, winning the James River District regular season and tournament championships.

Randolph-Henry opens the 2018 season 9 a.m. Tuesday at Briery Country Club for a non-district match.
