August 2

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY, 6 p.m. at Morrison Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. All women are invited.

August 4

BUMPER’S FESTIVAL, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Bumper’s in Drakes Branch. The event will include live music, food, yard sales, crafts and more. Bumper’s is located at 7170 Crafton’s Gate Highway.

COMMUNITY FUN DAY, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Emmanuel Bible Church in Keysville. Attractions will include two inflatables, cake walks, dunking booth, music, food, indoor and outdoor games, local fire and rescue vehicles and more.

August 5

HOMECOMING, 11:15 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Drakes Branch. The Rev. Vantell Allen, Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Meherrin will be the guest minister. Music will be provided by “The Voices for Christ.” Dinner will be served. Everyone is welcome.

SICK AND SHUT-PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Wylliesburg. The Royallights Gospel Singers will sponsor the program.

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Organ Hill Baptist Church in Drakes Branch. Minister Michael Haskins will deliver the message. Lunch will be served following the service.

CHOIR ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at Gill Hill Baptist Church in Keysville. Many groups will appear. Everyone is invited.

CHURCH ANNIVERSARY, 10 a.m. Sunday School at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 790 Saxkey Road in Drakes Branch. The church will begin worship service at 11 a.m., followed by lunch and fellowship. A special singing will be held at 2 p.m. with music by the Old Time Gospel Singer and a message by former Pastor, Bro. Lewis Evans. Night service at 6 p.m. The church will celebrate 41 years. All are invited.

August 6-10

REVIVAL SERVICES, 7:30 p.m. nightly at St. Level Baptist Church in Clarksville. Guest ministers will include the Rev. Reginald Hurt, Sr., the Rev. Eva B. Hurt and the Rev. Andy Hargrove. Different choirs have been invited for each night, along with their congregation and ushers. The public is invited.

August 6

FIRST RESPONDERS PROGRAM, Noon-3 p.m. at Charlotte Primary Care in Charlotte Court House. The event will be held to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s Health Centers and dedicated staff.

August 7

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT, 4-7 p.m. at the Charlotte Court House Dixie Youth Ballpark. The event is free and open to the public and will include music, food, school supplies, a bounce house, emergency vehicles and more.

BEEKEEPER’S MEETING, 7 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office across from Lowe’s in Farmville. Avenue Richmond will present a program on how to melt and clean beeswax and how to make things out of it. Anyone who has bees or is interested in bees is welcome. August 9

BLOOD DRIVE, 1-6 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Red Oak. Wylliesburg Baptist Church is the sponsor of this drive.

August 10

COMMUNITY MEETING, 7 p.m. at the Bacon District Firehouse. This meeting is hosted by Wylliesburg/Red Oak Supervisor Kay Pierantoni. County Treasurer Patricia Berkeley will speak regarding the county tax system.

August 11

ON THE LAWN FELLOWSHIP, 5 p.m. at St. Level Baptist Church in Clarksville. The church will have their annual “on the lawn” picnic and fellowship. The public is invited.

August 12

HOMECOMING SERVICE, 11 a.m. at St. Level Baptist Church in Clarksville. The Rev. Toney W. Smith will deliver the message. The public is invited.

HOMECOMING SERVICE, 11 a.m. at St. Michael Baptist Church. Pastor James Goode will deliver the message. Lunch will be served. Everyone is welcome.

August 19

WOMEN’S MINISTRY PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Keysville. All ladies wear white with a red flower. Refreshments will be served after service.

DEMOCRATIC MEETING, 7 p.m. at the Drakes Branch Municipal Building, 4800 Drakes Main St.
