Statesmen fall in regional semis after late rally

Randolph-Henry High School’s No. 1-seeded varsity baseball team entered the seventh inning of Wednesday’s Region 2A semifinal game with a 5-2 lead over visiting No. 3 Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School, but the visitors scored eight runs in the top of the frame and ended up winning 10-7.

The Statesmen finished the 2018 season with a 17-5 overall record. They had a first-round bye in the regional tourney and reached the semifinals after topping No. 4 Greensville County High School 9-4 on Tuesday.
