Eureka Elementary School Ecology Club Members were in attendance at an April meeting of the Charlotte County School Board to personally invite all to attend their 10th anniversary celebration on Sunday from 3-4:30 p.m. at Eureka. According to Advisor Elizabeth Peaden, the event “will include a time of recognition of partners, past and present ecology club students, followed by a walk on Eureka’s Nature Trail.”

She said Eureka is the only region 8 school to be named a Virginia Naturally School for ten years out of 73 total schools, as recognized by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. Peaden said the recognition is based on their efforts in supporting environmental conservation.

“Over the years, the school has been awarded two plaques and eight pennants for their efforts in supporting environmental conservation and stewardship,” said Peaden.
