Gertie Moon Fallen, 100, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Fleming Fallen; and her parents, Mr. & Mrs. C.W. Moon of Saxe, Va. She is survived by two sons, Floyd Thomas (Norma) and Gerald Edward (Cyndee); six grandchildren, Tee, Chris, Melissa, Ross, Drew Fallen and Elizabeth Brockwell; and seven great-grandchildren, Hayes, Hunter, Ella, Myles, Owen Fallen, Olivia Peters and Gemma Brockwell. Mrs. Fallen was a member of Central United Methodist Church for 71 years. She was born and raised on a tobacco farm in Saxe. and was one of eight children. She loved to sew and was quite a seamstress. At various times she did alterations for former Richmond stores, Thalhimers, Miller & Rhoads and Berry-Burke, Co.

A funeral ceremony will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Central United Methodist Church, 1211 Porter Street, Richmond, VA 23224. The family will receive friends at church one hour prior to the ceremony. Interment will be held 3 p.m. Thursday in Saxe Cemetery, Saxe, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central United Methodist Church.
