Phenix resident Duffie Jones is enjoying life one creation at a time. Jones is known throughout the local Charlotte County community for her customization and embroidery skills.
“I’ve always enjoyed creating items and it was just a natural part of growing my business,” said Jones. “I’ve been blessed at the success of my business and thank each customer for supporting me along the way.”
Jones currently operates Due South Stitchery online where items such as home decor, scarves, shirts, jackets and even Randolph-Henry High School designs can be purchased. She is also able to do items such as custom vinyl decals.
According to Jones, she uses a variety of ways to customize items for consumers in addition to embroidery.
“We use vinyl, sublimation and embroidery,” she said. “Timing really depends on what a customer wants. We try to get items done within a week. We do custom uniforms, infant, toddler and adult clothing.”
In addition to focusing on her business, Jones is currently a teacher for Charlotte County Public Schools.
When asked if she could live anywhere else in the world, Jones said, “I truly love the small town feel of Charlotte County. I can’t imagine living anywhere else.”
Jones said she doesn’t get the opportunity to watch too much television since she is always hard at work embroidering, but she does enjoy reading and crafting as some of her other favorite pastimes.
When asked about an interesting fact that not a lot of people would know about her, Jones said, “I grew up racing four wheelers and farming with my family.”
In addition, she said her favorite color was navy blue, she has a husband, Brian Jones and two children, Sully and Summer.
