Randolph-Henry High School senior heavyweight Caleb Calhoun placed third at the regional wrestling tournament over the weekend at Poquoson High School to qualify for the state tournament, while three other Statesmen earned the status of state alternates.

This is the second straight year that Calhoun has qualified for competition at the state level.

Junior 145-pounder Billy French, junior 160-pounder Matthew Poling and junior 182-pounder Layton Payne placed fifth at regionals to qualify as alternates at the state level. They will wrestle if someone in their weight class gets hurt.

Statesmen Head Coach Zack Mowery is hoping to see Calhoun place in the top six of the state.
