Marie Lawson deTreville passed away peacefully Dec. 6, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Leonard Lawson, her two brothers Leonard Lawson Jr, and Ralph Lawson, and her beloved husband, John L. deTreville Sr. (Jack). She is survived by her son Christopher L. deTreville, three grandchildren; Shawn Michael, Krystal Marie and Ashley Amanda deTreville and two great grandchildren, Christian Esau and Angel Marie Rodriguez.

Marie was born in the little town of Saxe, in Charlotte County, Virginia, and she grew up on her family’s tobacco farm. Marie attended Longwood College. She moved to Richmond and worked at The Life Insurance Company of Virginia for nearly 20 years. She met her husband, Jack in 1950. They were married for 40 years until his death.

While Marie called Richmond home, Saxe was always in her heart, and she never forgot her Charlotte County roots.
