Jean Barnett Keeling

Jean Barnett Keeling, 94, of Keysville, VA, passed away Jan. 9, 2018. The daughter of William S. Barnett and Mattie Moody Barnett, “Jellybean Jean” was a spunky lady who loved to travel the world and spend time with her family. She was a former co-owner of Key Office Supply, a Cub Scout leader, a Charter member of the Keysville Garden Club, and a member of the Sandston Founders Club. Jean will be greatly missed for her wisdom, humor, genteel manner, her smile and twinkling blue eyes.
Jean was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, John R. Keeling. She is survived by three children, sons Wayne Keeling (Sandy), Daryl Keeling (James “Buddy” Bourne), daughter Rita Keeling (Andy Merrick); three granddaughters, Jenny Keeling, Blaire Howe (Seth), Meredith Keeling (Jesse Robertson); and one great-grandson, Jackson Howe. Also surviving are her sisters, Marjorie Barnett Winter and Shirley Barnett Butterworth, and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank The Woodlands for their care and support of Jean during her stay there, especially the nurses and aides who attended to her.
The family received friends from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA where funeral services followed. Interment was at Ash Camp Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Charlotte County Rescue Squad.
