R-H varsity boys basketball squad maintains district edge

The Randolph-Henry High School varsity boys basketball team defeated host Central Lunenburg High School 64-21 on Dec. 19 to remain undefeated in the James River District (JRD).

The Statesmen are 5-3 overall and 4-0 in the district. Their other JRD victories include a 70-39 home victory over Amelia County High School on Dec. 15, a 50-34 road victory over Prince Edward County High School on Dec. 12 and a 59-50 home victory over Bluestone High School on Dec. 5.

Randolph-Henry is tied for the top spot in the district with Goochland High School, which is also 4-0 in the JRD. Right behind them is Bluestone at 4-1 and Cumberland County High School at 3-1.

The Statesmen visit Nottoway High School on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 7 p.m., and then they host Goochland on Friday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m.
