Marion “Buck” Watkins Mason, age 82 of Brookneal died on Monday Nov. 6, 2017 in Brookneal. He was the son of the late Mr. James Lacey Mason and Mrs. Lillie Hamlet Mason. He was the husband of Mrs. Janet Smith Mason.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Keith Mason, Gibbs Mason and Earl Mason; one sister, Mamie Dodd.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Smith Mason of Brookneal; three children, Michele Mason Singleton, (Bill) of Brookneal, Kim Mason Holbrook (Mark) of Appomattox, and Matthew Watkins Mason (Kim) of Brookneal; ten grandchildren; one great- grandson; one brother, James “John” Mason (Harriett) of Phenix; two sisters-in-law, Sarah Mason of Phenix and Geraldine Mason of Lynchburg; two brothers-in-law, Neil Smith (Pat) and Parker Dodd, all of Madison Heights; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the Midway Baptist Church in Phenix with interment in the church cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com.
