Statesmen fall 53-6 to Buckingham

Randolph-Henry High School’s varsity football team gave a valiant effort but could not contain the visiting Buckingham County High School Knights on Monday, falling 53-6.

The Statesmen were able to get on the scoreboard midway through the fourth quarter when freshman quarterback Peter Jones connected with senior wide receiver Hurley Noblin on a 13-yard touchdown pass.

To close its regular season, Randolph-Henry (0-9) will visit Cumberland County High School (0-9) on Friday at 7 p.m.
