Wildcats place third

The Charlotte County Wildcats softball team played in the Nora June Tournament on Saturday and Sunday and came in third place out of 11 teams.
The Wildcats lost their first game Saturday 6-5 in six innings.
Amy Grissom hit a single and drove in two runs, and Morgan Curtis hit a triple and drove in three runs.
Tiara Hurt struck out 11.
The Wildcats won their next game 11-0.
Sydney Mason, Gracie Pascuita, Grissom, Courtney Harmon Curtis each singled, and Ashley Nelson doubled. Sarah Mason put down a sacrifice bunt that led Nelson to score. Cate Curtis stole two bases.
Sydney Mason did not allow a base runner and struck out five.
The last game Saturday resulted in a 13-2 Wildcats loss.
They rebounded Sunday, however, winning 10-4. Sydney Mason and Harmon each hit two singles. Hurt, Curtis, Ella Schreckengost, Sarah Mason and Pascuita all had a hit. Nelson singled, doubled and homered.
Hurt threw three strikeouts.
The Wildcats lost their next game 9-2.
Gracie Pascuita and Summer Jones singled, Sydney Mason doubled and many of the players hit the ball hard, but it went straight to someone.
Kaylee Buckler had five stolen bases during the tournament.
The coaches congratulate the players on their hard work paying off and thank them for working so hard.
