A 26-year-old Keysville man is set to appear before a jury during a trial in Charlotte County Circuit Court on Oct. 31 on charges of abduction by force or intimidation, forcible sodomy,

two counts of destruction of property, two counts of assault on a family member and strangulation.

The charges against Demarco Steven Andrews stem from alleged crimes committed Oct. 29, 2016.

According to online court documents, Andrews has been scheduled to appear before a jury twice — once on Sept. 13 and once on June 26. In both instances, his trial was continued and it was noted that there was no jury.

Police said Andrews was arrested on Feb. 14 after the sheriff’s office received indictments from a grand jury for the crimes.

“The victim took out the charges herself with the magistrate,” Charlotte County Sheriff Thomas Jones said in a previous interview.
