Mrs. Betty Hodge Elam, age 68 of Brookneal, died Sunday, September 3, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Willie Hodge and Mrs. Lillie Wyatt Hodge. She was the wife of Mr. Larry Gene Elam.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Crawley and her sister, Mrs. Eula Hodge Henry.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Mr. Larry Elam of Brookneal; two sons, Shawn and Quann Elam; grandchildren, Roderick, Alisha, Kahlil, Aliyah and Channel; mother of grandchildren, Brenda Bradley; sisters, Linda Henry (Herbert) of Appomattox, and Valerie Hodge of Phenix; brothers, James Hodge of Washington, DC, Willie Hodge (Joyce) of Washington, DC, Frank Hodge (Vivian) of Brookneal, and Reginald Hodge (Sue) of Appomattox; aunts, Bernice Robinson of Philadelphia, PA and Pearl Wyatt of Charlotte Court House; sisters-in-law, Joyce Evans, and Helen Price (George); brothers-in-law, Joe Elam and Frank Elam; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Aspen Hill Baptist Church in Brookneal with interment at the Nazareth Baptist Church Cemetery in Phenix. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com.
