The first of what’s to come

Volunteers with the Farmville Area Habitat for Humanity’s Brush of Kindness Initiative in Charlotte County recently completed its first home rehabilitation project, allowing a family of five to occupy safe living quarters in Charlotte Court House. The family, which previously resided in very small quarters, partnered with Habitat to get their new digs through “sweat equity” — or laboring on the house — and by taking homeowner education courses. We commend Habitat for completing its first project and hope this is the first of many to come. Pictured are members of the Boyd-Wilmouth Family: Jermaine, Alexis, middle, and Jalen.
