July 9-13

SPORTS CAMP, 6-8:30 p.m. at Central Middle School. Sports will include soccer, baseball and softball for boys and girls in Kindergarten to fifth grade. Volleyball will be offered for girls who have completed grades 4-6. This event is sponsored by Midway Baptist Church. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL, 6:15-8:30 p.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church in Cullen. The theme for the week is “Galactic Starveyors.”

July 10-14

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. nightly at Mt. Ellis Baptist Church. The church is located at 8409 George Washington Highway in Keysville.

July 12-14

REVIVAL, 7:30 p.m. nightly at First Baptist Church in Wylliesburg. All are invited.

July 14

SIDEWALK SALE, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at 4849 Main St. in Drakes Branch. The event will include Drake the Clown, a bake sale, Southside Rocks, face painting, handmade jewelry, old pictures, books, cards and more. This event is sponsored by the Charlotte County Adopt-a-Cemetery Youth Members Project and proceeds will go towards buying sunscreen, bug spray, water, snacks and gas for youth members who clean and document the cemeteries.

July 15

USDA FOOD BANK, 10 a.m.-noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House. The food bank is for those in the Phenix and surrounding Red House community who are residents of Charlotte County. Food can only be received at one site. Bring a large cardboard box. For questions, contact Bernice Pannell at (434) 248-6465 after 5 p.m. and before 8 p.m.

July 16

USHER’S PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch. Special music will be rendered by Unity of the Lynchburg area. Everyone is welcome.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY, 11 a.m. at Mossingford Baptist Church. The speaker will be the Rev. Fleishman, pastor of St. Louis Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. Dress church casual; there will be a cook-out on the grounds immediately after the service. Everyone is invited.

GOSPEL SINGING, 3 p.m. at Beautiful Plain Baptist Church. Everyone is invited.

FELLOWSHIP SERVICE, 3 p.m. at Good Shepherd Church in Halifax, 3036 Mountain Road. Guest speaker will be Pastor Isaiah Hurt. Everyone is welcome. 

July 18

BLOOD DRIVE, 2-6 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church in Phenix. The church is located at 2595 Midway Road.

CHARLOTTE COUNTY GRAYS MEETING, 6:30 p.m. at Sheldon’s Restaurant in Keysville. The meeting will start with a “Dutch Treat,” followed by a short business meeting and a program. July 19

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Drakes Branch. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Glen Blackwell. A covered dish lunch will follow.

July 23

PASTOR’S ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Brookneal. The Rev. Maurice Finney, of Aspen Hill Baptist Church in Brookneal, will be the speaker. His choir will render the music. The public is invited.

September 15

POW-MIA DAY, 11 a.m. at the Charlotte County Administration Building lawn. This event is hosted by the Charlotte County VFW Post 8902. Guest speaker will be Greg Eanes.
