Dear Editor,
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for the quick and professional care that was given to my dad, Maynard Tatum, the morning of April 15th.
While visiting my aunt and uncle, Sug and Gus Wilmoth, he became ill and the first responder team was called. It was obvious that he was experiencing a stroke and needed immediate life-saving procedures.
With the help of the Charlotte County Rescue Squad and the Drakes Branch EMS, he was transported to a nearby location and airlifted to VCU Hospital, where he made a full recovery.
Had it not been for the outstanding attention of all the people involved, his circumstances could have turned out a lot differently. I cannot praise them enough for the quick medical assistance they provided that day in saving his life.
Drakes Branch, you should be very proud to have such dedicated professionals, serving your community. Thank you again to everyone for your outstanding service.
