Meredith Vassar Feinman has been chosen to receive an academic scholarship from the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund.

According to a press release, the fund awards scholarships annually to outstanding high school seniors.

“Recipients are selected by an impartial committee of university admissions and financial aid directors based on academic achievement, SAT/ACT scores, character and potential,” according to the release.

“Areas that are reviewed by the scholarship committee include … academic accomplishments, community service and letters of recommendation. “

Recipients must attend a four-year U.S. college accredited by one of the six Regional Accrediting Commissions of Higher Education associated with the American Council on Education.

Meredith is the daughter of Steve and Shannon Feinman, of Charlotte Court House, and will attend James Madison University in the fall.
