Jerry Preston Dodd, 73, of Randolph, went home to be with his Lord after a brief battle with cancer on Monday, June 12, 2017.  He was born on August 4, 1943, to the late B. F. Dodd and Vera Thomas Dodd.   

A brother, Benny Ray Dodd predeceased him in death.

Jerry is survived by a brother, Thomas Franklin Dodd, Phenix; and sisters, Anita Dodd Garrett (Sandy), Lynchburg and Vera Kay Hamlett (Gilbert), Charlotte Court House; a devoted sister-in-law, Nora Turner Dodd; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Jerry was a graduate of Virginia Tech, enjoyed hunting, collecting NASCAR memorabilia and restoring antique vehicles. A memorial service was held Sunday, June 18, 5 p.m. at the Appomattox Baptist Temple. Family received friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
