VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL, 6-8:30 p.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. Vacation Bible School is open to individuals preschool-eighth grade.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL, 6-8 p.m. at St. Michael Baptist Church. Everyone is welcome to attend.

June 15

BLOOD DRIVE, 1-6 p.m. at the Drakes Branch Municipal Building. To make an appointment, call Beth Walton at (434) 568-6721. The Drakes Branch Municipal Building is located at 4818 N. Main St.

June 11-16

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL, at Bethel Baptist Church. Children age 2-fifth grade will meet Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-noon and the youth will meet Sunday at 4 p.m. and Monday-Thursday 6:30-8 p.m. The commencement service will be held Friday evening at 6 p.m. at the church.

June 17

FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY POSTPONED, at Gethsemane Presbyterian Church. A new date will be announced soon.

USDA FOODBANK, 10 a.m.-noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House. Food will be available for those in the Phenix and surrounding Red House Community who are residents of Charlotte County. You can only receive food at one USDA site in Virginia. Please bring a large cardboard box. For more information, contact Bernice Pannell at (434) 248-6465 after 5 p.m. and before 8 p.m.

June 18

MEN’S AND WOMEN’S DAY, 3 p.m. at St. Michael Baptist Church. The Rev. Roger Allen, pastor of Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak, will be the guest preacher. Everyone is invited.

HOMECOMING, 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Keysville. Pastor Wyatt Vaughan Jr. will deliver the message and the Antioch Youth Choir will render the music. Dinner will be served.

REVIVAL, 10 a.m.-noon at Salem Christian Church in Fort Mitchell. Music will be provided by First Go ‘Round and the speaker will be Matthew Hood. Lunch will follow the service.

June 19-23

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Keysville. The Rev. Leon Jackson, of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Farmville, will deliver the message for the week. A guest choir will be in attendance each night. All are invited.

June 20

CHARLOTTE COUNTY GRAYS 1964 MEETING, 6:30 p.m. at Sheldon’s Restuarant in Keysville. The meeting will begin with a Dutch treat meal followed by a short business meeting and program. Jim Lillard will be the guest speaker for the evening. For more information, call (434) 735-8415 or (434) 696-2202.

June 23

FISH FRY, 6:30 p.m. at the Red House Fire Department. All-you-can-eat fish is served with French fries, slaw, hush puppies, dessert and beverage for $10.

June 24

CENTRAL HIGH MUSEUM CELEBRATION, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Central High Museum. The community is invited to come out and support the event.

June 25

HOMECOMING, 11:30 a.m. at Briery Presbyterian Church. Dr. Joseph Parker, former pastor of Briery Church, will lead the worship service along with Pastor Joe McCutchen. A covered dish luncheon will immediately follow the service. Friends and former members are invited. A short meeting of the cemetery association will follow lunch.

MISSIONARY DAY, 3 p.m. at Aspen Hill Baptist Church in Brookneal. Guest preacher will be the Rev. Lloyd Wesley, pastor of the Mt. Ellis Baptist Church, in Keysville. He will be accompanied by his choir. A repast will be served following the service. All are invited.

July 4

QUILT RAFFLE, sponsored by Charlotte County Meals on Wheels. Drawing will be held July 4. A hand quilted-throw (42-inch by 57-inch) made by South Central Parish Quilters will be on a rotating display at county libraries, banks and Sheldon’s. Tickets are $1 or six for $5 and can be purchased from Denise at the library, from the Charlotte County Meals on Wheels office at (434) 736-8441 or from any board member.
