Alexa Moore, a junior at Randolph-Henry High School in Charlotte Court House, has been selected to attend the YMCA Conference on National Affairs.

Moore was selected as one of 21 students to represent the commonwealth from over 550 students at the Virginia YMCA Model General Assembly in March, according to a press release.

“Virginia will be represented by students from various regions of the commonwealth including Roanoke, Farmville, Richmond, Hampton, the Eastern Shore and Arlington,” officials said in the release.

The conference, which will take place June 30-July 7, is held at the YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, North Carolina. More than 500 students from nearly 40 states will debate proposals of national and international importance at this week-long conference, according to the release.

At the Virginia YMCA Model General Assembly in March, Moore served as a lobbyist in the courts of justice committee.

Moore is the daughter of Raymond and Teresa Moore, of Charlotte Court House.
