Doris Wagoner Fields

Doris Wagoner Fields, the daughter of Jesse Lee Wagoner and Ruby Bailey Wagoner, was born in Burlington, North Carolina on October 3, 1931 and died in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on May 20, 2017.
She is survived by a son, Franklin Lee Smith and his partner Reade Taylor; a daughter, Linda Smith Conkwright and her husband Scott Conkwright; their daughters Caroline Conkwright, Catherine Kirtley and husband Chad Kirtley, and Christin Conkwright. She is also survived by her twin sister Dorothy Hall, her sister Erma Dickerson and husband Jack; and her brother Jay Wagoner and wife Shelley.
She was predeceased by her parents and sisters Elizabeth Cannon and Mary Louise Coble.
Doris was a devoted and loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister. She found much joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time with her family. She enriched the lives of many others with her gentle loving spirit and generosity. She was a lifelong member of Friedens Lutheran Church in Gibsonville, North Carolina where her family worshiped since 1745.
A graveside and interment service for the family and friends was held Saturday, May 27 at 2 p.m. at Alamance Memorial Park, 4039 S. Church St., Burlington, North Carolina, 27215. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor and memory to Friedens Lutheran Church Youth Fellowship, 6001 NC Highway 61 N., Gibsonville, North Carolina 27249.
