The 2017 season came to a close for the sixth-seeded Randolph-Henry High School varsity softball team Monday with a 16-0 loss to host and No. 3 Amelia County High School in the Quad Rivers Conference 34 tournament quarterfinals.

The Lady Statesmen finished with a 3-16 record, achieving their third victory in the final week of the season when they defeated visiting Bluestone High School 5-2.

“Overall, we had a bumpy season with plenty of ups and downs,” R-H Head Coach Amy Hamlett said. “We were coming together as a team in the end. I saw a big improvement in everyone, and I am truly proud of all of the girls who worked hard every day.”
