Randolph-Henry High School Senior James Bouie was recognized at the Charlotte County School Board on May 9. According to a press release, Bouie’s artwork was chosen by the Virginia School Board Association (VSBA) to represent the region. For each of the nine VSBA regions, a winner is chosen for the elementary, middle and high school levels, according to officials. The winning art is framed and displayed in the VSBA in Charlottesville and the Richmond offices of the state superintendent of public instruction. The VSBA Regional Art Contest began in 1989 to promote the artistic talents of Virginia’s public school students. Pictured with Bouie is art teacher Claudia McMillan.
