Students learn conservation

The Soil and Water Conservation Department came to Bacon District Elementary school recently to help fourth graders learn about water, watersheds and ways people can protect waterways. Julie Hamlett and Patricia Mays visited the school’s library and brought models of a community. They discussed natural resources, watersheds and how pollution affects water sources. We thank the department for instilling conservation in our county’s youth. Pictured are, from left, Mays, Hamlett, Shamiyah Goode and Ethan Overton.
