Silver, Pettus lead R-H in track and field

Five members of Randolph-Henry High School’s outdoor track and field program placed during a meet that took place at Amelia County High School on April 26, and they were led by freshman Emma Silver and junior Nadya Pettus.
Silver won the girls 400-meter dash and placed fourth in the girls discus throw, while Pettus placed first in the girls 100-meter dash.
Sophomore Anisha Marable was second in the girls 300-meter hurdles, senior George Sandridge placed third in the boys 800- and 1600-meter runs and freshman Jabari Gunter placed fourth in the boys 400-meter dash.
After its last regular season meet Wednesday afternoon at Buckingham County High School, R-H will compete in district field events Monday at Buckingham, with district running events taking place Wednesday, May 10, in Nottoway County. Both events start at 4:30 p.m.
