Randolph-Henry High School (R-HHS) held a prom to remember Saturday evening, with an equally exciting after-party.

Thanks to donations from organizations, business, individuals and churches, more than 100 students got the chance to go all-out during the after party that included a DJ, a mechanical bull, sumo wrestling, a photo booth, casino card games, a bungee cord race game, human bowling, a Wii gaming station, face painting, a bubble ball, corn hole, a caricature artist and a rock wall slide, according to Erin Davis, a R-HHS science teacher and after-prom organizer.

More than 50 prizes, such as a laptop computer, an Xbox One, tablets, TVs and Beats headphones were raffled off throughout the night. Eight students were selected to participate in the RAYSAC car giveaway in Roanoke on June 4, where they will have the chance to win a 2017 Hyundai Elantra.

Davis said the after party is meant to provide a fun, alcohol-free environment where students can avoid drugs and alcohol that can often accompany prom with sometimes harmful results.

Last year, Davis said 87 students stayed back for the after party. This year, the number rose to 111.

Davis said no fatalities were reported following prom Saturday.
